Consultation involves listening to patient’s dental problems, examination of the situation, evaluation of x –r ays , arriving at a diagnosis, prescribing necessary medicines and recommending suitable solutions for the dental problem.
Oral prophylaxis (Scaling) is a procedure to remove Tartar, plaque ,Calculus and stains from the teeth. This procedure is mandatory for good dental health. It is recommended to have dental check ups once in six months and scaling done as per the dentists advice.
It is dental care for children from infancy till teenage. Timely care for their teeth during various stages of childhood prevents Childhood cavities, tooth pain and early tooth loss. Early identification of childhood habits like Thumb sucking, and mouth breathing helps to correct problems of the jaws and teeth.
Extraction is Removal of the Problematic tooth . It can be a Simple or surgical removal depending on the situation.
Removal of the tooth surgically that has failed to come out of bone. Usually the wisdom tooth or occasionally the canine needs a disimpaction procedure.
Root canal treatment is done to save a tooth that is damaged due to cavity or trauma.
An artificial root that is placed into the bone to replace the lost tooth. Infected pulpal tissue of the tooth are removed ,root canals are cleaned and sealed with filling materials.
A crown is a cover placed over the tooth to bring back its size ,shape and function of the tooth. A bridge is the connected form of crowns that replaces one or more missing tooth. It requires support from the adjacent tooth. Various choices are available depending upon the material and number of teeth.
It is the simplest form of replacing the tooth (partial or complete) where in a gum colored plastic base supports the artificial tooth. It can be easily removed and worn by the patients themselves.
It is a method to straighten or move a tooth that is irregularly placed. It invoves correction of oral habits, growth modification at various stages of growth.
It is a cosmetic dentistry to enhance the patient”s normal smile. It may be tooth whitening ,correction of spacing or crowed tooth ,altering tooth size and shape,gummy smile etc.
It is an extensive procedure that restores appearance and function of patients with compromised oral health It requires multiple appointments and skills from various dental specialities.
A periodic followup for every 6 months is required ,it helps to findout and treat the dental problem at an earlier stage.
